Hi chscag, And thank you for your reply. I will check out everything you suggested. It took me awhile to reply back because I haven't been able to get online until now. I realized later that after my last attempt to resume downloading Yosemite ( I thought it was frozen up), that it actually had responded and was finishing downloading. (thus no internet or anything else) The next time I logged in, I was faced with a line up of windows saying I had to do all kinds of things: Reconnect to Wi Fi, update this and update that, etc. Finally, everything is up and running so far. and I didn't lose my photos as I feared, esp. after reading some of the comments on this site. My antivirus may have to be re-installed because of some issues. But, I will take your good advice and check out the hard drive. I have a friend with a computer business who will be able to see if he can get the recommended 4 to 8 GB or if I should get a new Mac altogether. Have a good day and thank you kindly, bren
