surfing with Safari 8.0.2 main pages open up but hyperlinks only load halfway and then freeze. Also Apple chat keeps disconnecting.

Hi thekizman!

We need more information. Model of computer, year, amount of memory, size of hard drive and remaining space. That will help get us started. Also any network information like how are you connecting to the intertnet?

I live in the country and have DSL. Somedays if the weather is bad or a squirrel is chewing on the telephone lines, I get all kinds of connection issues.

The more specific the information the better the help will be.

I have a two month old iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014) with1.4 GHz Intel Core i5 and 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I have 468.64 GB free out of max 499.25GB. I connect through a cable connection with a new surfboard SB4161 modem and an older welkin G wireless router. I hope this helps. Thanks for your prompt response.

Thekizman;

Experiment with a different browser such as Firefox and see if the problem is replicated. If it is, then clearly Safari isn't the issue.

Also try using Safari in the guest account and see if it does it there.

Think your bottle neck may be the Belkin router throttling everything back to g speeds.

Either that or the Belkin is getting old and hiccuping.

Try what Chas suggested. Install Firefox and see if you have the same issues with same sites.

Is the iMac your only system there? If not do others connected to the Belkin display those links?

Thanks everyone. I will replace the old Belkin. I have my laptop connected running windows 7 and it does not have the problem.

I have a similar issue with Safari under Yosemite at the moment. Haven't had the time to seriously troubleshoot the router but have found that if I choose to reload the page (command r simultaneously) the page loads.

BTW is it only happening on a few sites? That seems to be the case for me.
