Yosemite: iMessages (texts from androids)

In Yosemite you can receive text messages from Android phones in iMessages, as opposed to soley iPhones prior to Yosemite. I have an iPhone 6. How come I do not see any messages from Androids in iMessage? Is there any settings I can change to make this work?

Too many devices to list
SMS Relay only works with iOS 8.1. This would be why you don't see them.

IOS 8.1 is to be released soon? I only have IOS 8.0.2 and iPhone says it's up to date
