Hey guys. Is it ok for me to work on a Screenflow (video software) project file that is stored in a Timemachine backup. It is a very large file and will take too long to copy across to my Mac HD as I need to work on it how. Will doing this create any issues in the project file later down the line?

many thanks

I would recommend against that. TM stores data in sparce bundles, and are not regular files. You may damage all of your backups if you directly mess with the files in the bundle.

Good catch there Jake. I misunderstood the OPs meaning. I thought it meant that the file was still on the computer and part of a Time Machine backup. You can generally do that without issue. In fact, that's the way Time Machine works.
