WMA to MP3....can it be done?...for free?

Whilst the new computer teacher at school was cleaning out the old teacher's desktop he found she had downloaded some 2GB's of music whilst there. I being the opportunistic person I am managed to get 300 mb's of it. However it is all .wma format. I have tried numerous converter programs that only convert 80% etc. or need money to do it. Is there anyway I can turn these tainted songs into mp3? for free?
