What ports are on your devices?

Unless the Mac only has USB-C connectors. The same one as you've been using for your iPhones. If this is your first iPhone, an Apple standard lightning to USB cable is all you need.
Thanks, I got the 21.5 Mac 2012 with the OS Catalina. I believe I need to get the lightning to USB connection.Delighted to help; but what Mac do you have - Model, Year & Operating System (OS)? That info plus the request from Bob about which ports you have, will help us sort out things.
I have the iPhone 11 Pro, and I think that the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the same lead which connects to your phone, with a USB at the other end to attach to your Mac. Have you not got that lead? It's been the standard for a year or two.

I guess I got screwed ! Was not in the box. I'll be going back to Verizon . Thanks !Yes, that is correct. In fact, such a cable. should have come with the iPhone 12 - as in this screenshot from the Apple Site:

Also, to be fair, my link was to Apple UK where the cable was, as it showed, shipped with the iPhone 12.
That might not apply across the world, maybe?
