My husband spilled wine on my macbook pro and it went all into the keyboard. We immediately dried/riced and turned off. It worked fine the next day. The, second day I turned it on and got a blinking folder with a question mark. Then I started reading about all the things I should not have done by powering back on so soon. It is now in the V with a fan blowing on it. No power since 2 days ago. Please give me some advice on what to do from here and if I can atleast get my files off!!!!

Wine is an acidic drink. Acid eats circuit boards and the connections thereon. Taking it out early was a bad move, I'm doubtful of the future of this machine.

IF the hard drive inside the machine wasn't damaged, then the data on it is likely fine and it can be placed in an external case (after being removed from the MacBook Pro) and read by another Mac. Naturally, you should have been making backups long before this.

Most of the damage done to this computer occurred milliseconds after the liquid touched the electrified insides of the computer. The average human eye blink is 100-400 milliseconds. 100-400 milliseconds is MUCH slower than the time it took for the liquid damage to occur.

Just an addition to the advice from the previous posts.... Look at it this way, now's your chance to make hubby buy you a new MacBook Pro. ;)

Do as chscag says. You will never have a better opportunity to demand he replaces it!
