It's hard to know but as long as your specs are within (or exceed) what they suggest you should be fine. More RAM usually = better, and of course the video card. I'm not sure what's in the Mini off the top of my head.

I actually had wow running on an hp with a p4 laptop and a 32mb integrated card, with 512 ram....now, running it and having it so you can actually play it are two different things.

But you may be able to run it at a low resolution with enough effects to have it looking ok...I've only ever played around with a friend's old ibook and that's all the "low end" apple experience I really have. I currently having it running at 1920x1200 resolution with most settings maxed and getting average of 60fps on my Dell laptop, but I configured it to be able to run games...so....

I'm a big fan (I know, let me alone) of MS Office... 2008 should be coming out in the near future... I think the student edition is well worth the price (although NeoOffice is free). Depends on what you want... My personal choice is Office

So you can play it on the same specs as me? Thats good. Are there any games anyone else suggests?

it ran, it wasn't playable. the macbook has better specs than that old hp anyways... You may be able to get away with it with more ram, but It's not going to be graphically impressive.

Well, i'm posting this on a Dell (Windows) but in about a month or two i will be getting a Mac Mini. But I've never used any Apples or Macs etc before.

First off, welcome to a brave new world. :)

Are there any bits of knowledge that I need know? Like how to install Firefox and the likes.

Installation is awesome and is easier than Windows. I love being able to download a new program and just put the DMG file in the apps folder and being done. I have had my MacBook since February 2007 and I can count how many times I've used my Windows computer for school, internet, or word processing. Once. And that was because I was only because I had just checked the weather after playing a game!

Also I am a gamer and i know the Macs aren't famous for being able to play games. But i have a Windows Installation disc and would it be possible to install another OS on a Mac? Or is there a way for installing games for windows on mac?

I would recommend looking at either Bootcamp or Parallels. Also, you may have some luck with certain programs with CodeWeavers Crossover Mac. I use Crossover Mac for my Macromedia Studio MX 2004 (program is dual platform - but serial code is not - watch out for that). As to games, it would be better to look at Bootcamp or Parallels. Not a lot of support for games under Crossover Mac yet.

I hope that helps.

Thanks. I'm getting really tired of this slow windows pc.
Kind of off topic but do i need to have any anti-spyware or virus software to keep my system clean and safe?
I've heard Macs are pretty immune to viruses though.

Hmm... I've never heard of Parallels. Will it slow my computer down to use it?
Edit: Do i have to have an intel based computer to use it?

From what people say, paralells does not support rendering and there for sucks a big fat one for gaming or anything with 3d graphics. Plus some one on here posted that Vista didn't really work well until they had 3gb of ram, which makes sense if it doesn't do 3d rendering it's probably using the processor and memory to preform those functions....
