Considering that every Mac other than the Mini or Pro comes with an inbuilt camera, what is a use-case for using an iPhone as a webcam?

Thanks and cheers

These Apple articles may/may not give you some idea about using Continuity Camera/iPhone as a webcam.

If you read these carefully, you'll see or read about occasions where such a setup may be to your advantage.

Normally you wouldn't, but as Ian has linked, in the continuity case the iPhone can be used to show the desk contents while another webcam can show your face..

On an ongoing basis, using an iPhone as a webcam isn't a good idea, it's cheaper to buy a dedicated webcam. But the iPhone can serve that purpose in a pinch, on the road, etc.

A phone is easier to adjust to where your face is, and how much zoom than Mac cameras are. (with a tripod). For both camera and mike).
