Message: <blockquote data-quote="cwa107" data-source="post: 351721" data-attributes="member: 24098"><p>To elaborate a little more on what others have said, when you download most Mac software, it comes in a "DMG" file.  DMG is a "disk image", which when double-clicked "mounts" as a virtual hard drive on your desktop.  Many applications will run straight from that virtual drive without any type of installation process.  But when you reboot, the virtual drive is no longer mounted and the application is not available until you run the DMG file again and mount it.  To "properly" install the application, the window you're seeing is trying to tell you to drag and drop it onto your Applications folder (and for your convenience presents a handy shortcut so that you don't have to open up any additional windows).  You literally just drag the program icon and drop it on the shortcut to your Applications directory in the same window.</p></blockquote><p></p>
