Why do people buy a Mac to run Windows?

I am an engineering tech for one of the worlds largest manufacturer of Telecom Analyzers. I do NOT envy our IT dept one BIT for having to deal with Windows and Dells all day long. A couple software engineers here bring in they're Macs for work, most of our units use custom made Linux applications so they can virtualize our OSs within OS X easily.

I use Windows on my MBP only for certain music creation programs that don't have Mac versions and for my Zune because MS is too stubborn to develop a version of the software for Mac. I hate having to use Windows still though.
