the key for making me drop my previous anti-mac sentiment was actually getting to play with one. It was so sudden in fact that my parents as well as most of my friends were like "WHAT?!?!? you used to hate macs, and now you own one... what is up with that?". People grow older and wiser, i guess thats what happened in my case. The ability to get hooked on a mac so easily may be the reason the apple stores are doing so amazingly, they let you play with the equipment in the store. One of my friends let me borrow his powerbook for a couple of days, and i got sooo hooked on it. I went and ordered mine the very next weekend. Its quite possibly the best purchase i have ever made.

Thats exactly what helped me to make the switch. I live 4 minutes away from Roosevelt field mall which got its own apple store about 2 or 3 years ago. when i first saw it i decided to just check it out for the heck of it. The store was beautiful all white and clean and everything with very knowledgable workers. Just being able to toy around on the apples and ask all the questions i had made the switch much easier. I had said i was gonna do the switch when i went to college next fall but i had made enough money so far this summer that i decided to just go for it and i am absolutely loving it. now to bring this thing to my friends houses to get them to try to make the switch because it is definitely worth it.

I Switched!!

I'm a semi-switcher. I have work that needs to be done, and that work seems to happen quicker on my Win2K boxes. But I love using my iMac, and I wish tI had more time to devote to it. It seems that I go through phases, and some times I will go a week using only my iMac, and sometimes I will go a couple days without touching it.

I just ordered my first Mac: a 1gHz, 15" PowerBook. Though I have not used it yet, the reason I switched is simple. I have used multiple versions of Windows for years and years, and every single one of them froze, crashed, and acted jittery every day. I cannot tell you how many times I have been working on an important project, or right at a critical point in a game, and Windows just froze and turned into the Blue Screen of Death with some mysterious Error Message, for no apparent reason. I hate Windows!!!!!

Switched a little over a year ago

A little over a year ago , I decided that I was bored with my PC and and I needed something new. I had been using computers for about 11 years before I bought my first mac. I always built the biggest and best PC's and was never satisfied for very long, and I was fed up with Windows probs. That and the fact that I was intrigued by the Apple machines and OS X which I had the opportunity to try at CompUSA a few times.
So since I had the money I decided to go for it and picked a Dual 1 GHz Powermac, 17 inch LCD, Harmon Kardon speakers, and 20 GB Ipod. Even though it was more money than I ever thought I would spend on a computer, I was thrilled with my purchase and have enjoyed it ever since. My Athlon 1800+ now sits in the other room , and I am spending alot of time with Final Cut Pro 3. I felt really comfortable with OS X within an hour of sitting down with it and I am addicted to the style in its looks and in its operation. Best money I have ever spent on a computer purchase!

When i was around 10 we had a Performa 6300 in the house.
We eventually got rid of it and got a Dell w/ Windows ME.

I hated ME (Millennium) and all of the issues/maintenance with it. When I started college I went out and got and iBookG4. I have never been happier and I am never going back.
