I've switched back to Firefox, I've always been a fan of Firefox, but when I installed snow leopard fresh I thought I'd give it a go, and it was working fine for a bit.. but then crashes, I've tried everything from reinstalling to removing cookies/history etc.. nothing helped.. So I've switched back to Firefox 3.6 B5 (Beta).. and I have to say its way better, infact it uses much less ram aswell, I would highly recommend people use Firefox :p the interface is also much more convenient they have open tabs button located in the perfect spot unlike Safari..

I'm hooked on Chrome for Mac even though it's not feature complete and doesn't even have a bookmark manager yet. I doubt I'll go back to Firefox any time soon.

Firefox.

Safari is fast and smooth, but you can't top the easy-to-setup extensions and themes of Firefox 3.5. It's also FLOSS.

I use firefox. Used to use OmniWeb - I really like their whole suite of apps - but about every month it would start freezing every time it opened, and all I could do to fix it was to trash my profile with all my preferences, bookmarks etc. Also was really slow to start up, but noticeably faster in my opinion than firefox or safari. Still, firefox all the way....

I use Safari right now and it seems to be working just fine for me. The load times are great and everything just looks soo simple and clean.

I use google chrome 4.0.249.43. Works great and it's amazingly fast. Was using safari which was good but I have to say that chrome is a tad bit faster.

I use Chrome. I notice no difference in speed which makes sense since Safari and Chrome both use the same HTML and Javascript engine.

I use chrome because I can search with Google UK unlike Safari. Firefox is slow.

Why is there two topics about favourite web browsers next to each other as stickies?

I was wondering that also. That's why I clicked on this topic first to see the difference.

Safari, it's just so nice and convenient.

Same here. I see alot of people use more than 1 web browser at a time.
To each, his own though.

Safari. Much more lightweight and much quicker than Firefox. Firefox takes somewhat more time to load pages. And Safari just feels right, but on a Windows computer Firefox is the way to go.

I always believed that speed is determined very much on the internet connection, but other than that, firefox for me, used it on windows and its the same on a mac. Though if i go over my bandwidth, opera's turbo feature really helps.

If anybody wants to try something 'different', give Demeter a go. Available from MacUpdate Download Demeter for Mac - Browser based on Shiira. MacUpdate Mac Software Downloads.

Still in the beta stage (1.5b), and quirky at times, eg. new tab brings up a new window, and you lose the previous one, also not too good at retrieving history. Version 2.0 is on its way. I thought Camino was fast, but D leaves it behind.

Firefox + Tab Button = Favorite

I just purchased my Mac a few weeks ago. During my PC days Firefox was my only browser. With the Mac I have had to go through the browser tests. Safari was my first browser no problems. Then I tried Camino, again no problem. Finally I took on Firefox. Firefox won. The difference between the browsers are minimal in my opinion. Dealing with a fast browser these days is normal. I just dig some small functions. I used to have a ton of different browser windows open when I had XP. That doesn't really work with my 13" Macbook, so I had to use tabs. Firefox had the tab button in the tool bar and that was the winning function.

Safari is still the fastest on the mac, chrome for windows. Chrome beta is second runner on mac for speed.

Firefox is customisable but slow in comparison.

I have tried quit a number of the available browsers, and always keep coming back to Safari. I like its simplicity. All I need beyond what it comes with is an ad/flash blocker.

I do keep Flock and Firefox around, the former because it offers unique social-network management features, the latter because I can use it to troubleshoot/standardise any funky web issues I encounter.

I think it's a good idea to have at least two browsers with different "engines" for such occasions, but beyond that I don't see this as a meaningful competition -- I think it's great that we have such a wealth of choices!

Cheers

Currently using Google Chrome BETA on all of my machines. Runs fast with good buffer times for videos. Takes a load off memory usage compares to Safari as well. Some minor kinks throughout but hoping for the best once beta is done with =)
