Which Powermac for me?

Hi,
I'm planning to buy a new computer this summer and I'm unsure about which one to buy. My priorities are longevity (it'd be awesome if it ran forever), price and a DVD/CD-R drive. I'm pretty much the average consumer (no games though), although I do play with graphics sometimes.

I have a G3 iMac which I fear is coming to the end of its life. I was looking at the G4s, and it seems that the 1.25 GHz one is everywhere. Would this be a good choice? Also, is it likely that I could get this refurbished for less?

The iMac G4 1.25 with a super drive is a vey good choice and refurbs are available with full backing for less If 1 gig RAM (upper limit) is ok, a look at a similar eMac may prove interesting

If you are to buy an iMac, WAIT!!!!! Check out http://buyersguide.macrumors.com and you can see it's obviously next in line for updates...There are some rumors that it may be a G5 iMac....
