I'm an idiot. Meant to put Mac Pro instead of Power Mac. Mea culpa.

People seem to like laptops!
I can't be doing with them really and never understood the need to have a portable computer :black:

Maybe it's an American thing - pickup trucks, SUVs and laptops!!

I travel for a living, so I'm on the road about half the month. Ever tried lugging a desktop computer along with your luggage through airport security, on and off airplanes all day and then in and out of hotels? Let me tell ya, having a machine that's always with you (even out of town) and can be in whatever room you happen to be in at home...that's pretty huge.

No, I don't own a pick-up or a SUV.

+1

I work out of a home office and travel regularly. Having a notebook means I can work in my den, work in my bedroom, work on the kitchen table ... whatever I feel like. Cordless phones and wireless networks FTW! :)

Having everything with me, all my files and applications, whenever I'm out town is a necessity. And watching a movie on my 15.4" widescreen MBP while flying from coast to coast beats the heck out of a video iPod. :ninja:

My first Mac AND first laptop, the MBP. I LOVE the fact that I can lay on the couch while watching a movie and pause it for a quick chat on Adium, or I can even sit outside when the nice weather comes!

I might be getting a MacBook soon but that's not 100%

MHC -- It's not exactly the most scientific poll ever conducted. :) Don't sweat it.

I've been using my only mac, the mini, since purchasing in July. Just received my 20" iMac so that will take the place of the main system and the mini will be handed down to my son for school.

Hey, iCal reminds me that today is my 2nd year anniversary of being a Mac user, starting with that Mini I purchased back then. I'm now posting this on my white Macbook, while the wife is happily doing something or other on the couch on her black Macbook.

The Mini has been shipped to my parents in WV, where as soon as UPS can get through all the snow that is limiting deliveries in that area, they will hopefully be introduced to the Mac experience.

My hope is that one of them will take to it and require that I ship the other (my wife's) Mac Mini to them so both of them can be converted.

In the meantime, my vote was for a Macbook.
