Which computer shall i go for?

Hello, im 15 years old and im looking for a new computer (ideally laptop.) I am looking at the Dell studio 17. I need it to run adobe programs e.g: photoshop, after efects etc... I also need to be able to play high quallity games, and do video editing. I have a budget of arround £800.

I have now looked at the iMac. It is selling for £969 which would be my deffinate limit for price. What do you think I should go for?

Hard to say, my friend.

When it comes to the video editing and the graphics, you'll never find a better computer for them than the iMac, particularly these new ones. They are stunning, and OS X is the natural environment for all things creative.

You'll also be able to run the games you want to, but probably via Windows. The iMac can of course run Windows thanks to Boot Camp, and in many ways this is ideal; the PC side for games, the Mac side for more serious efforts.

You can certainly get away cheaper by going with a PC in the short run, but in the long haul I think you'll actually spend less and get more with an iMac. I mean, take a look at that huge LED backlit IPS screen! There's nothing like that in PC land without spending the big bucks. Not to mention the operating system.

Call me biased, but if you can swing that iMac, I think that's the way to go unless you're just fooling around.

Yeah, go for an iMac, you won't be sorry, Dells I have had always had mobo failures.

I'm about your age too and I have the 21.5" iMac. I use it for video/photo editing and it's perfect! Sorry but a laptop just isn't the way to go for what you want to do, the iMac is the one to get. Trust me, you won't regret getting the iMac!
