Where did my "undo send" e-mail go?

For the first time, I used the "undo send" option in Gmail ... this with MacMail on my MPB.
Sure enough the message did not get sent ... but where has it gone?
I cannot find it anywhere on my Mac.
I assumed that it would go back into Drafts, but it's not there.
I'd like to retrieve it and send it again after a couple of edits.
Comments greatly appreciated ...

It doesn't seem like there are many replies to your dilemma but with a quick Google search, several of the hits seem to indicate that once the email message was recalled " it was out of the sender's hands".

I did not see anywhere that indicated such emails were actually saved in your sent mailbox so I guess they aren't.

A search with Find Any Ffile.app or EasyFind.app might be able to find it on your Mac if it's hidden somewhere out of your view.

Hi Mike.... - I've only played with the 'unsend' feature in Sonoma - when I cancel the send the message returns for further editing? Not sure what is happening in your situation - BTW, if you get it working, the delay time can be altered from 10 to 30 sec - go to Mail Settings > Composing and the window below opens. Dave :)

Thanks ... it was only a minor thing that I'd like to change.
Good job, too!
It seems to be a useful option.
But I can imaging sleepless nights if it had been a major, embarrassing error ... I mean worrying about some awful mistake and fearing that this e-mail that cannot be found might somehow get sent later.
I've seen Google refs that suggest that such an e-mail is only delayed ... but whether or not this applies to e-mail from 'MacMail' on an MPB, as opposed to those from Gmail via a web browser ... (?)

Sorry Dave ... I sent my reply above before I saw your suggestion.
Will not try more for now ... feeling tired.
But will report back.

Could not resist looking into "Settings". I see what you mention.
But unless you can get at the e-mail in question, the option is not much help.
I have Somona 14.2.1. My Mail is 16.0.
You say that your "unsent" mails have returned for further editing ... but nothing in any of the boxes here.
I don't have the apps that you suggest.
Perhaps it's gone into a black hole.
As I say, it was nothing serious ... thank goodness!

Just tried a test ... pressed "send" on this test e-mail.
And then "undo"
Sure enough it was still there.
I guess that I must have messed up when it happened earlier.
The e-mail must have somehow got deleted while I was fiddling around .. probably deleted it myself.
Well, at least I now know that it works if you keep calm!

Funnily, that's exactly what I did just now prior to posting back to this thread - and my result ties in with RadDave's reply and yours. So, well done. Problem solved ;) (y)
