I've been feeling down lately so the songs on my playlists kind of reflect that. A few are:

Parabol - Tool (even though I don't like metal)
Biscuit - Portishead
Hey - Pixies
Street Spirtit (Fade Out) - Radiohead
Hurt - Johnny Cash (better than Reznor's version, IMO)

I missed them unfortunately in the Texas leg of the tour. Only got to see RHCP. I've seen a concert video of them in London and it was awesome. If you get i'd suggest giving their first LP "De-Loused at the Comatorium" a spin. It's one of the best albums I've heard in many years.

do you like Sparta?

Because some members from mars volta and sparta usta be a different band, they broke up and became those two. I really like sparta alot more than i like volta.

Cedric and Omar used to be in At the Drive-In (saw them in Dallas) from El Paso and I liked them alot. Broke up because they didn't want to be on MTV/TRL. Sparta is great - I've got their album. Sparta remained kinda gritty and raw, while Volta went off on a completely new tangent, much the way ATDI did from the emo-punk scene that came from El Paso and New Mexico. But IMO Cedric/Omar were pretty much the driving force behind ATDI and Volta's progressive/punk takes their music to a much higher level than Sparta did after the split. John Frusciante and Flea even played on MV's album. Coming down off the soapbox now. ;)
