In speedtests, I get pretty close to that number. Around 27Mb down and 4.5 Mb up

That's hella fast .

Verizon FiOS - 16 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up. I was pretty happy with that before I read Kash's speeds!!

My FiOS line will run up to 30 Mbps, but Verizon pretty much triples the 16 Mbps monthly fee to deliver you the 30 Mbps rate. I haven't been able to justify the expense so far.

I would say yours is about as fast as you would really need, sure it could be faster but most of the time you are going to be limited by the host you are downloading from and then a lot of the time you just won't be able to tell a difference because it happens so fast anyways.
