What to do with a Dead i-book??

The logic board in my ibook (g3, 800mhz, etc) died recently. Have a feeling it got cooked...just lovely. I'm planning on buying a new g4 ibook rather than fix the old.

Any suggestions on what I can do with the old one?

The hard drive is healthy. I was hoping it would be possible to turn it into an external hard drive to access some of the few files that didn't get backed up before the crash. Good or bad idea?

I'm currently lending the Airport card to my roommate. It's not an Extreme. Think it can attract a decent amount of money?

Any suggestions on what can be salvaged?

Any suggestions on good cases that won't cook a laptop while it's sleeping?

if it were mine, i would check ebay and see what they are selling for. you might be better off parting it out.

Id try to sell it as a whole, youd get less money, but at least you wouldnt spend time disassembling it. or you could use it an external hard drive.
