Does it update all software on your computer? As in video drivers, sound card, etc? or is it only the os programs?

You'll usually see some of the iLife applications (iMovie, iTunes, GarageBand, etc.) too.

For the most part, the only drivers you have to update manually are those for peripherals you buy, like printers, tablets, and scanners.
