What kind of excuse will you say to refrain someone from borrowing your new iphone?

Every single person who owns the latest version of iphone has the same problem upon purchase. I have realized that you shouldn't place it in your back pocket in any case in light of the fact that it can without much of a stretch or be swiped much the same as your wallet) and start causing difficulties with ios8, the iphone 6 and its enormous sibling, iphone 6 Plus, have gone under a lot of flack. So this is my question for you, How do you take care of your new iphone? ( Because I experienced it myself) Have you ever let someone borrowed it without having second thoughts on the first day you bought it?

I don't have the 6; however, I don't let people use my phone ( except my wife )

One thing I've noticed is the folks at retail stores who want to take my phone to get the scanner to work when I use it at a fast food store or Starbucks. I won't let go of it.

Put it in a case and don't put it in a place where it can be stolen or warped (such as a back pocket). I don't think there's much more to it. As for the question in your title, it's your property - you don't need an excuse.

Don't lend your spouse, money, computer, car or phone. Simply say 'No'.

May I just add: and your fountain pen!* My Montblanc "149" is 20 years old, I use it daily, and nobody ever handled it, never mind wrote anything with it, but me.

* Not that many people these days know what that is, or how to use it ;P

Too much data on a phone to be casual these days. I don't hand my phone to anyone I wouldn't hand my gun to. A polite, "no" always works for me.

As simple as this sounds, this really is the best solution. As I noted earlier, it's your property and you have every right to deny people the opportunity to enjoy it.

Harry, please clear up a little ambiguity.

Did you mean to put the comma after "spouse" thereby implying "don't lend her or the other things to some one else"; or should you have left the comma out, implying "don't lend any of the other things to your spouse" ?

Comma is right. Don't lend her to anyone! You can 'lend' her anything you wish of yours.

I know what it is David and how to use it, however, I haven't seen one in many years. The only Montblanc pens that are sold nowadays are fancy ball writers. I'm just wondering after 20 years that you haven't worn out the writer tip? :p

They still produce fantastic fountain pens, including the flagship 149 in its classic form, however only Montblanc boutiques and some authorised retailers carry them.

As to your question:

No time like the present to re-visit some antiquated technologies. ;)

That's a beautiful pen by the way. I don't write much anymore on a regular basis but that pen would certainly make it more enjoyable.

Personally, I preferred the Parker 51, if only for its styling.

I remember the whole bunch of "home check printing" software companies and services in the US not that long ago ... How bizarre it seems now, particularly here, where DIY cheques were never allowed.

True, there's not much need to write stuff anymore, I just like my pen too much to stop :)
