Hey Avalon! Since you live in Europe (which I, as a stoopid rednek, only know is someplace that is not in America) and since you all are so peaceful and loving twords the minorities and immigrants over there, how do you explain THIS? I thought you Europeans were more civilized than we silly and stoopid Americans and didn't have to worry about racism...

Well, first, I don't feel attacked in any way...
I never said that we didn't have trouble with racism, or any other trouble. As a matter of fact, I am kind of a dual immigrants son (father's Portuguese, mother's German, living in Luxembourg), so I think I'm a little bit better postitioned to talk about that particular issue (which I won't, as it isn't the topic).
The thread is about G.W. Bush, which I have a quite negative opinion about (like lots of other people around the world) and I'm just expressing my opinion. Nothing less, nothing more.

Ah yes, those civilized Europeans...after causing two World Wars as well as having a long history of warfare and attrocity, I don't really think they have the credibility to lecture anyone about what they do at this point

But the French did it in conjunction with and with the blessing of the UN and had no real vested interest in the area (nothing of real value to them) so therefore it was OK. It's only bad if you might stand to gain something from it, or if the UN doesn't agree....
