I have this weird thing that keeps happening. When ever I close the lid the laptop goes to sleep, but after a while if I bump it it will make that sound when you just turn on the computer a sort of buzz. Then the little light will stay on for about 30 seconds. And this is where it gets odd. After making that noise I open the lid and it is just black, the cursor is still there and I can move it but I can't see anything. then I try to restart it by pressing the IO button but I have to hold it for about 10 seconds, then it shuts down. Any ideas?

I don't know if this applies to what you are experiencing but is sounds like you are activating the "motion sensor" apple built into their laptops to prevent hard drive damage.

Check out the following link on Apple's website which give details on how to disable this feature (although I wouldn't recommend it)... http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300724

Hope this helps.
