I have waze on my iPhone but the display is too small to read while driving. I don't have Car Play in my 2016 Audi. Is there another way to get waze on the main car display?

Without CarPlay, no you can't get anything to show from the phone on your car's displays.

Do you have an iPad you could use?

Same thought - some type of iPad car mount (one below from Amazon but other brands/models available there) - Dave

If you don't have a suitable iPad there are other options. Several companies have third-party, aftermarket options that add CarPlay features to vehicles that don't have it as a built-in option. I've seen prices ranging from about $150 to well over $1000.00.

I haven't looked at this too much but these articles might get you started.

IIRC some of the major audio manufacturers also have units specifically targeted to various makes/models of cars. The cost obviously varies considerably.

The other thing to remember is that some these devices support CarPlay and Android Auto while some devices support one protocol or the other.

Waze, is good I admit but in Australia it's very hard to beat the sychonised directions on Apple Watch from Maps when driving.

That can be a little disconcerting.

I got the Apple Watch SE a few years ago and of course it's linked to my iPhone. We were going driving a route we haven't memorized so I used CarPlay.

The first turn comes up and of course the turn gets announced along with a vibration on the watch that scared the carp out of me. It took me a couple of turns to figure out what was happening.

Fortunately, I was in the shotgun seat and not driving.

Apparently I can add/activate car play in my MMI unit via a software update but everything I've seen is for the European version. Does anybody have a URL for a US version?

This is a very Audi-specific question that you'll want to take up in an Audi forum.
