hey everyone, new here
I bought a mac pro about 2-3 years ago didnt really do too much on it. I have a graphic design major and I find myself needing a laptop for school projects and such. something i can unload the adobe create suite onto. Im not very educated with the types of macs but Im guessiing a Macbook Pro is probably what i need. right? ok well these are the features of my mac pro i was wondering if anyone can give me a clue to how much i can sell this computer for.

Mac os X
Mac pro
Processor 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual core Intel Xeon
Memory 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Macintosh HD

oh ps. Is there also anyway i can internally scan to see if theres anything wrong with my mac or just to simply see where its at in its life. ok thanks i appreciate it.

Go to mac2sell.com and fill out the information there with all of your info (the style, processor(s), memory, cd/dvd drive type, hard drive capacity (total of all drives in the mac pro), etc.

Got the original system install discs? Pop in disc one, boot holding down Option and run Apple hardware Test extended. Checks out everything.

Be mighty careful with that mac2sell site - it's listed as a malware site and your browser may block it. You can override that, but DO NOT accept ANY cookies.

$1000 really isn't that far off of a fair offer for a 2006 "Quad-Core" Mac Pro.

I purchased my 2006 Mac Pro over a year ago (about 15-16 months)...and I got it for $1050 with 4 gig of ram & the better x1900 video card. That was a GREAT price at the time since similar models were selling for around $1800 on e-Bay.

But since then Apple released the "2009" Mac Pro models which always reduces the value of previous models in the same product line...plus the original Mac Pros are pushing 4 years old.

So I'm going to say that your Mac Pro is probably worth around $1100-$1300. This doesn't mean that someone in your area will pay that much...so depending on how many people are looking for a Mac Pro on your local Craig's List... $1000 may actally be a pretty good offer.

Hope this helps,
