l use it to play music which is in a created folder. but why doesn't it allow the .mp3 folder to continue playing as if it was a playlist? I can click the two buttons next to play button (left and right facing triangles with a vertical line at apex) and this usually selects the last or next track, but why doesn't it continue playback by itself after a .mp3 track has finished?
The reason I use is the ease of compatibility with my mbpr, I simply airdrop from mbpr to iphone and open with VLC. but it doesnt allow continued playback :(
I heard of KMP player being able to do this, but is it safe?
something compatible with iphone, itunes, would be ideal, except it isn't user friendly, at least to me, I cant even add a track, like l use to. "File" "Add to library" and sync, but doesn't seem to work no more
:(
please help

Hi Applet

I can't pose a direct answer to your question and maybe what I am about to say is not what you want to hear, but I mean no offence.

Why not use the tried & tested method of connecting your iPhone to the Mac via USB (or WiFi if you prefer, but USB is more "secure") and selecting all the playlists or albums or artists or composers of your choice and syncing them to the iPhone. Then use the Music app to play them.

You then have total control, you can do all the things you mentioned. It's really not that much longer than using Air Drop and don't you do this to backup your phone anyway?

Specific answers re VLC may come from others if they have gone down the same route as you.

Continuous playing works for mp3's in a folder if the player preferences are set to Settings > Continue audio playback and Automatically play next item, or at least it does for me.

That's a good reply. I always use the default Music app and I'm perfectly satisfied with it. But the thing is, this poor little fella wants to play video and audio both at the same playlist using his/her mobile. And the default Music app really can't do that.

sorry for late reply IWT, itunes is hardly user friendly, but I did manage to add music / mp3 tracks as desired on playlist as . why is that? I disconnected iphone 5s, to see if that worked, but still same, tracks cannot be added

It's so difficult when we can't see exactly what is happening but have you tried playing these music tracks on your laptop/desktop with VLC?

Yes, it does work if the screen is not turned off, try to play your track in a folder of tracks then switch off the screen. For me it continues playing to the end of that track then stop. if the screen is left on it continues to next track, which is what it should do. Try switch the screen off.
