I am getting all sorts of pop-ups on my computer, plus I went to a site and I got locked out of Safari - FBI warning...yikes. What is a good program to run to fix?

If this is the FBI thing that I think it is, this is more of a browser hijack than a virus. To get rid of that one do the following:

1. Turn off / disconnect all internet connections (shut off wi-fi and ethernet).
2. Shut down the Mac wait a moment then restart but do not connect to the Internet.
3. Launch your browser and close all open windows. You may also want to clear browser cache.
4. Reconnect to the Internet and open your browser..

To get rid of any similar garbage try Adware Medic a try.

Called Ransomware . Next thing will be a demand for $69 for a repair. After you do what Slydude has suggested and downloaded and nran AdwareMedic, also consider downloading extensions AdBlockPlus and Ghostery.
