Video from iMovie HD to Youtube quality problems

I recorded some video on my droid razr maxx. I edited it in iMovie HD, and am trying to post it to Youtube. Youtube says it accepts MOV, MPEG4, MP4, AVI, WMV, MPEGPS, FLV, 3GPP, WebM. But NO matter what I export from iMovieHD in, the resulting video quality is terrible! The only format it says good in is DV, which Youtube doesn't accept! Does anyone have any experience with this???

YouTube, of course, re-compresses the submitted video so that they can create various versions to play on different platforms, at different resolutions.

Are you submitting these videos in HD? Have you adjusted the YouTube player to play them back in that same resolution (it won't do so automatically)?
