Hi Strange problem with my 2020 MacBook Air Retina. Since I upgraded to osMac 10.15.6 Supplemental update, all my mail goes into my drafts folder. I have 3 email accounts and each should go into their respective folder with a red dot. I phoned my Internet Provider, in the UK, which is BT, and was told to contact Apple Tech Support UK, no help what so ever.

Strange, my wife's MacBookPro Retina (2015) is fine and she's on the same osMac as me. Any help welcomed.

Which email services are you using for the three accounts? They should indeed go into separate folders with your email in the Inbox/Sent as appropriate. How did you setup the email accounts within Mail.app?

What, if anything, did Apple tech support suggest to try?

One is my Internet provider BT, also use iCloud, I think iCloud is already set up on modern Macs. I set up the BT email myself both using Mac Mail
with instructions from BT. Apple Tech Support in the UK isn't good in my opinion, even if you take out AppleCare +. I've been a Mac user since 1992, first Mac LCIII 2MB Ram, 160MB HD on System 7.6. Often told by Apple Tech Support that I know more than they do_Only true for older Macs

Apple hadn't a clue wanted me to download an App which lets them take over your screen,( probably TeamPlayer) Downloaded OK, but couldn't open it. I think my new MacBook Air won't allow remote access software to open ? I think Apple bring out far too many major upgrades. No sooner do you become familiar with say Mojave, they release Catalina. Obviously osMac 10.15.6 wasn't treated enough as Apple had to release a supplemental upgrade. Not been happy with my new MacBook Air, often the "finger' for links changes to the symbol for adding text. So won't load URL at times.

I've checked out the MacMail settings in my wife's 2015 MacBook Pro Retina, but appears it's the same as on my MacBook Air.

You need to set the T2 security chip in your MacBook Air to allow remote access. I'm rather surprised that the Apple Tech did not advise you of that.

Sorry for late reply. Been in hospital for 3 weeks, and it's taken me until now to feel like turning a Mac on One of the drawbacks of being 79.. My "new" Mac turned out to be a 2019 with 1.6 GHz Dual Core Intel i5. My wife tells me she's only been using her iPad whilst I've been sick and she very honest with. For some reason and I've searched high and low, but no results. My MacBook Air Retina uses Mac mail and for some unknown reason is putting all incoming mail into the Drafts folder, not just on mine but on her MacBook Pro Retina. I can understand this as they are on wireless network. But it's also on my 27" iMac which is on Ethernet. Can anyone tell me how to fix this this on MacBook Pro Retina and my MacBook Air Retina, or give links Not to worry about my iMac have just turned these off in Mail. Thanks in anticipation,

I don't suppose that using Mail's Maibox -> Rebuild would help, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to try.

Otherwise, maybe google could provide some hits or suggestions to try:

Hi Jim

So sorry to learn of your hospitalisation. Never a pleasant experience and a lot more frightening in these awful times.

I'm going to make a suggestion which may solve your problem, is easily reversed and will do no harm.

Open Mail > Mail Preferences > Select your account from the list on the left > then click on "Server Settings" over on the right.

Under "Incoming Mail Server", Uncheck the box "Automatically manage connection settings"

Quit Mail app. Open Mail app and see if that works..

( You could do the same for Outgoing Mail server, but I doubt that's necessary)

If it works, great. If it doesn't, then recheck the Incoming box ie return things as they were.

Thanks to pm-r and IWT for your replies. Not too good today, so will try later or tomorrow and let you know the outcome. It only started doing this when I upgraded to either osMac 10.15.6, or 10.15.7

Well that seemed to work for a time with incoming mail going into correct folders, but I found loads of rules I'd set up in Rules to blacklist mail and urls. Deleting all these, some incoming mails went into the correct folder on my wife's MacBook Pro Retina. Did the same on my 2019 MacBook Air Retina, now all incoming mail still go into Drafts. This Mac wasn't bought from Apple, it was bought from PC World,
who are not doing online support due to Covid 19. Have to take it to nearest PC World store, but not fit to travel at present due to MS. Patrick not much on Google on incoming mail going into drafts.

Apologies for late reply, but my MS put me back in hospital again, but thanks to all for bearing with me.

Sorry, I meant to reply to say that every time I switched on iCloud it switched itself off, so any mail to my two inboxes can be be anywhere, so I have to search all boxes. Apple have been less than helpful, call dropped out 4 times when talking to Apple UK Tech Support. I booked a call from them yesterday to be answered within 15 minutes still not received it.

Hi All,

I have decided to go for the MacBook Air Retina with M2 with AppleCare+ included. Do you you think I am making the right choice. There is an M2 MacBook Air Retina about £200 less including AppleCare+.

Sorry if I'm in wrong forum. Moderator, please move it if I am and tell me where it is.

My 2019 MacBook Air bought from PC world cannot be repaired as far as putting emails in the right box.
Might get £150 in Px.. or scrap it voluntary

Jim, maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but the two Macs appear identical; only one is £200 less?

May I ask if you are buying from Apple as new; Apple as refurbished; or from another seller eg Curry's; or second hand eg eBay ?

And are there any other specs that we should consider eg storage capacity?

Yes< that's what I thought, I've gone for the cheaper M2 nearly £200 less and AppleCare + just £219, Apple charge £249. ?? I bought it brand new from Amazon, as next day delivery, whilst Apple estimate 14 September to 21September. Hope it doesn't have a log in password lIke the Apple one.

Hmmm...??? That sounds rather drastic for such a problem which surely can be overcome, or are you just actually wanting a newer MacBook and this is the excuse you are using???

By all means give it to some poor deserving kid who can probably restore it to as good or maybe even better than new. ;-)

Just remember, Jim, when you first start it up, it will ask for your AppleID and password to log into Apple to register the machine. So don't be surprised at that. It's part of Apple security.

Yes, I intend to wipe the drive and re-install 12.5. Last login I used was first four letters of letters under the numerical key, but I wasn't able to boot up as the reminder was " Lady" I tried all configurations, but was told by Apple Tech Support and PC World that it should have a password if it was a new pristine MAC, so sent it back for refund on MacBook Air and the AppleCare refunded, only difference I Had it upgraded to 16 GB Ram

Jim, I don't know what you were trying to do with that last post, but if it was YOU who said, "I intend to wipe the drive and re-install 12.5," that is probably not necessary. Just boot the machine and if you get the "Welcome" video from Apple, it's just as it came from the factory. Do the setup, providing the AppleID and password, then creating your account on the machine, and once you know it's working, you can look to see if there are any updates to the operating system that need to be applied. If you want to restore from a TM backup, create the account on the new machine with the exact same login name and exact same password as was on the machine from which the TM backup was made. That way your files will end up in your account with the proper permissions for you to be able to read/write them.

Couldn't reply at first post reply, just spinning beach ball and EXC crash. Think I might try a Windows PC, never used windows either with Boot Camp or Virtual Machine. The cancer is spreading and my memory is just about shot at.

My wife has always used my Apple ID. Do you think it would help, if I set up a New Apple ID for her.
All my Macs are on a Network, so unlike last time I never switched any of the Macs I had running.. Would this help giving her her own Apple ID.
