USB WiFi dongle that works with Bug Sur

Hi all
The WiFi card on my daughters MacBook Air is fried and I need to purchase a WiFi dongle.
The price to fix out ways the worth of the Mac.

from doing a little research, my understanding is that TP dongles need various driver fixes on Big Sur.
Does anyone use another brand and was it easy to install?

What year is her MBA? Anything up to and including 2017 model years have replaceable Airport/Bluetooth cards. If it is a Retina model from 2018 forward and they are not replaceable.

I’ve taken it to a Mac repair shop and it’s not just the card, the logic board is damaged which is why I need the dongle.
Can you recommend one?

Sorry, no I can't recommend one. If the logic board is damaged, the dongle still may not work.

If the logic board is damaged, there is no point wasting money on a dongle that likely won't work. You need to consider buying her a new or newer Mac. Can you tell us how the logic board was damaged? Liquid spill perhaps?
