I have a Mac Mini 2,1 as well. Now unless there are some subtle differences in models that would make ours different, then the answer is yes. However, because of some such subtlety, I discovered that I would not be able to move up more, not even to 10.8 Mountain Lion. Given that 10.8 was released so soon after 10.7, indicating problems with Lion, I've chosen to stay with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 which I only "graduated to" about 10 months ago.

Just for the record, the fact that 10.8 was released a year after Lion doesn't mean anything at all. Apple initiated a yearly OS X upgrade program, like it has with iOS.

Yosemite came out a year after Mavericks, which came out a year after Mountain Lion.

But as toMACsh stated, and I'd agree, I'd stay with SL OS X 10.6.8 if it were my Mac.

And I don't know how much memory you have installed, but almost every OS X upgrade works better with lots of and usually more RAM.

But don't starve SL 10.6.8 for memory either.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, since I now have no way to verify this, but unless you purchased (let's say) Lion from the Mac App Store, I'm not sure you can upgrade to it anymore. I believe the only available upgrade is Yosemite now.
