I want to make sure I have my facts straight.
I have an aluminum iMac (iMac8,1), 4GB memory on-board, Core 2 duo, 3.06 GHz, manufactured between May 19, 2008 and May 25, 2008.

From what I can gather this machine will support 6GB of ram, although Apple does not confirm this. Is this true.

I am running Parallels and constantly hit the memory wall. Will 6GB help this situation. I can run bootcamp and I'm fine but I really would like to run my memory intensive trading program in a VM while using my iMac.

Thoughts?

I don't think upgrading to 6GB will help at all with the "Windows" side of things.

How much memory are you giving the Parallels virtual environment? This is a setting that you control in Parallels' control panel. That could be your issue right there.
