How do I shut off the update reminder? I do not want to update to Yosemite at this time. It keeps reminding me every day
Whoops. I should have stated I have an Imac 2011 with Maverick on it right now

I forget what it was called in Mavericks

It's in System Preferences - then look for either 'Software Updates' or 'App Store' and turn off what you don't want. You may need to click the lock and enter an admin password to make changes there.

Everyone should open System Preferences and go through every single item there just to check out all the options available to you at least once and if you really don't go in there very often - maybe once a year after that just to see if there may be some adjustments you'd like to make after getting familiar with how everything works.

You're quite right bobtomay, in Mavericks, it's System Preferences > Apple Store. All the options are listed there.

Thank you very much! Been in system preferences many times, but never thought to look at App Store.
Us old farts can and learn something new every day...:)
