I have a 8th gen iPad with iPadOS 17.2.
I saw that Apple released 17.2.1 on December 20 along with iOS and macOS.
When I checked for updated through Software Update on the iPad it says my iPad is up to date iPadOS 17.2. The updates worked perfectly on my iPhone and my MacBook Pro.
Why can't I do the update????????

Thank you in advance for any help>

Hi Ken - the iOS 17 update was for compatible iPhones; there was no 17.2.1 iPadOS update (at least not yet! ;)) Dave

Ken,

You are one of many who has been confused by the recent iOS 17.x updates.

For example OSX Daily proudly stated that iOS 17.2.1 update would apply to iPhones (correct) AND iPads (wrong); and like you I persevered with our 2 iPads hoping for the update and these repeatedly advised me that those iPads were up to date.

An easy mistake to make, but this misinformation caught quite a lot of us.

So, relax. (I bet you as soon as I said this a new update will be advertised for iPads:):)).

Well, after I updated our 2 iPhones, I did go to my iPad which stated that it was up to date, so also initially confused - just looked it up - waiting any minute for that one to be released! Dave :)
