Uninstalling troubles

So I had wanted to try Windows out on the Mac. I did everything that I was supposed to, and I got Windows running using Bootcamp.

After a little, I decided to get rid of Windows, as I didn't use it often, and I needed the space.

I went through the uninstall process and got rid of Windows. But now, every time i turn on the computer, I get a very slow startup and a black screen with a message "cannot find XP" (something like that)

If I boot it up and hold the option key, Mac OSX boots up fine, but if I don't, I have to shutdown and restart holding the option key.

What is wrong and how can I fix it?

The procedure to remove Windows and restore the HD back to OS X:

Boot to OS X, run the Boot Camp assistant, select create partition, select restore.

Did you remove Windows that way? If not, use the BC assistant and follow the above.

Regards.

I did remove Windows the way that you stated.

I fixed the problem. I went into System Preferences -- Startup Disc -- selected Macintosh HD and clicked Restart.

All of the problems are fixed!
