Uninstalling Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive

I am trying to uninstall Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive and it says that you must do this before installing Office 2004 (which I have already). Is there any way to uninstalling Office 2004 Test Drive without having to uninstall Office 2004?

Go to the Uninstaller on the Office 2004 Install CD and uninstall all and do a clean install then of Ofice 2004 as you will get problems running both the trial and full versions.

Thanks for your answer. I have since found the install disk, but I was wondering if when I un-install Office 2004 and then re-install it if it will also delete all of my Office documents? Thanks so much for a response!

I don't think reinstalling the Office application would affect existing files, but as a precaution, back up your Office files to a flash drive or CD or similar before you reinstall Office.

I successfully uninstalled Test Drive and re-installed MS Office for Mac 2004, but now two things are happening: 1) when I double-click on an Office document, an error message (#10660) shows up telling me that it can't open the document, and 2) once I open the application (e.g., Word, Excel) manually, and double-click on a document a message shows up asking me if I want to "revert to the saved version," (after which I click yes, and it re-opens the whole document again, even though I didn't have the document open int he first place.) Shall I try uninstalling/reinstalling Office 2004 again? How can I fix this situation? Please note that I have not yet downloaded the updates for 2008 -- I doubt that has a bearing on this situation though.

Don't download updates for 2008 as it is a completely different animal top 2004. Updates for 2004 have been recently released. DO you have Open XML Converter in the Applications folder and what format are your saved documents in - .doc and not .docx?

Sorry, I meant updates for Office 2004 for Mac to be compatible in Office 2008, as mentioned by a poster above. I have not downloaded any updates yet nor do I have Open XML Converter downloaded onto my computer. Any ideas?

Also, I have all documents in .doc.
