A perplexing issue: My cousin has an iBook G4 800 MHz notebook and is running OS 10.4.11. He believed he was up to date, as Software update told him so, but that didn't sound right to me.
We found the downloadable update for OS 10.4.2 on Apple's website and he downloaded it, but when he picked his hard drive as a destination, he got the following error:
"You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
The required disk space is 125MB for the update, and he has over 26 GB free. The disk was checked for problems and none were found. It's partitioned correctly and formatted as HFS+ as normal.
Anyone have any ideas?
