Unable to access my Glyph Hard Drive!!

Hello Mac Forum: I have an iMac desktop OSX Ver. 10.6.8 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo coupled with a Glyph GT 050Q Hard Drive All of a sudden after 3 years it won't show up on my iMac! My HDD comes on and my cables have tested good (at least on my LaCie HDD) and I was able to to use it via my 2.0 usb port (but was unable to access my 003 engine of my Pro Tools setup) How can I resolve this problem? Thank You!

Does the Glyph show up in Disk Utility? All drives can fail alas.

Hi Harryb! Really appreciate your help! To your question Yes it does show up in Disk Utility; It also checks out OK when I run disk permissions/repair tests. However it only seems to show up when I use the USB cable (my firewire is also connected). But I still can't access my 003 PT playback engine-it's not even onthe dropdown menu! I've read that this has been a problem to others, is there a simple solution? Thank You for any help you can give me. JadeMichael

You appear to be saying that the drive is connected to your computer using BOTH USB *and* FireWire. To put it mildly, that is not advised. If it works using the USB cable, disconnect the FireWire cable (when the system and drive are powered down, not "live"!)

I have no idea what a 003 PT playback engine is, or what dropdown menu you're referring to, so that's as far as I can help.
