Macbook - 2.4 ghz intel core duo / 4 gig of ram.
I have a brand new 15 inch - 2.2ghz i7 Macbook Pro, 4 gig ram - running Lion. I have had it about 2 months and am using it for video editing and photography work.

It has been crawling lately, using Adobe Lightroom it takes well over a minute to fully display a RAW photograph file. When more than three apps are open (itunes, google chrome and lightroom for example) the machine crawls switching between them and working. It isn't just lightroom either, working in Pages, chrome, itunes etc also slows it considerably.

Thing is, I recently sold a 13 inch black macbook - 2.4ghz with 4 gig ram which was definitely FASTER!

I have ran Onyx, no luck. Is anyone else having these issues? I'm thinking it may actually be Lion OS.

What size hard drive do you have? It could be slowing down if you have a ssd that is nearly full, or in rare circumstances I have heard of them backing themselves up on their own hard drive so see if by chance it is not using time machine on itself
