Hi. I want to reinstall macOS and I don’t want to reinstalling all media in the library of the tv app an the music app.
Where are the preferences files located so I can save them and copy them layer back to there correct locations?
The location of the media (music and video) is on an external hdd

What you should do is make a backup (have two on hand just to be sure), then wipe your internal drive; reinstall macOS; then use Migration Assistant to pull back in your personal files. That will put everything you want back to the way it was, including reading the files on your external HDD as you were. A TIme Machine backup will suffice here.
