On my older Asus router there was a switch on the side of the unit that shut off the WiFi radio which we did every night.
I just got a new Airport Extreme, Time Capsule and I was wondering if there was a way to shut off the wireless so that the radio won't transmit or receive at night? I know there is a function to disable the internet at night, but I still can see the base station (just not connect to it) so I know the radio still is on.

How do I shut it off at night or on a schedule minus unplugging it from the wall?

Thanks!

Why do you feel a need to turn off the WiFi transmitter every night? And yes, unplugging it from its AC power will definitely shut it down.

Just curious. Why do you think you need to shut off the WiFi on your router at night?

Not "judging"…just curious.:)

I think this is a great question and I'm sure designers will start adding the functionality for scheduling the WIFI radio signals and/or give easy access to shut it off. Our family uses the airport time capsule and we are constantly unplugging the power when we are not using WIFI. Plus we have returned to wired connections for our computers.

It's actually pretty harmful for our brains, especially of babies and young kids. You can find a lot of info about it on Google. It's worth the time to research it for your family's health's sake.
