Trying to delete contents of DVD RW disc

not sure how to do it so I opened up the disk and tried to drag and drop the contents into the trash. I am told I don't have enough privileges to do this but I am the only user and have Adm. privileges. Could some please advise me.

I tend to use toast, but I believe that you need to use the disk utility application to erase the DVD-RW.

Ok so where do I find the disk utility?

hit cmd-space and type disk utility. It should be the top hit

or you can go to applications > utilities > disk utility
