transfering pictures from iphoto

quick question.

So I pulled all the pictures off of my Nikon D-40 onto my macbook pro using iphoto and so far, it's great.

If i wanted to pull all of these pictures off of my computer and onto an external drive, where would I locate them?

When I go into the finder, and pictures, i just see an iphoto icon which then opens up iphoto.

create a new folder on the desktop.

open iphoto
go to file-export

click the file export tab.

click the export button.
choose the folder you just made on the desktop.

might be an easier/faster way. this the way i have always done it

When working with iPhoto's assets, there is a simple rule:

ALWAYS work from WITHIN iPhoto. NEVER use any other way to access the contents of the iPhoto Library.

Jmiller, you've been a ton of help tonight thanks! I take it that if I had plugged in my external drive and it mounted to the desktop, could I just export it directly to the drive or would it be best for me to export it to the folder then drag the folder into the drive?

you sure could just go to the external.

if it were me. i would export them to a folder on the desktop them drag and drop it into the external
