I am have the worst time with a computer since having windows way back when. I upgraded to Yosemite and since then my macbook has been a complete drag. The spinning wheel is present on almost every program. So I decided to do a backup and go back to Snow Leopard. I have a brand new Seagate ED. I get the "Time Machine couldn't backup to Seagate drive" only a few minutes into it. I click on details and "An error occurred while copying files. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk." is what I get. Over and over. Same thing. So I figured I could just take what I need and move it to a few thumb drives but no. I move folders 10 gigs, 80 gigs, 150 mb and I get these errors that there is a file that can't be read or written and the process quits. I have never had any issues like this. What's my best route to getting back to SL at this point?
