I used Time Machine for the 1st time the other day but I had a folder on my computer full of stuff that I have backed up on a seperate external drive. The Time Machine backup worked fine and backed up everything but it's now taking up more space then it should since it backed up that folder. Is there a way to get rid of just that folder from the existing backups so I don't have to run teh whole process again or is it just better to wipe the drive clean and use time machine again to backup the existing setup on my Mac?

Launch Time Machine and in the Time Machine finder, select the file/folder you want to delete. On the top bar of the finder ( in Time Machine ) there is a menu item that allows you to delete all occurrences of a file / folder inside Time Machine.

Do not manually connect to the Time Machine disk and start fiddling around, because you will create a problem later on.

Hope this helps.
