Hey folks,

I'm hopping on a plane in two hours with my new 13" MBP. I made the switch to a 27" iMac a few months ago, and liked it so much that I grabbed a small notebook just for travel.

I'd like to maximize my battery life (movie watching) time on it for my flight. I've disabled the airport and bluetooth, and plan on dimming the display. That aside, is there anything else that I should look to turn off to squeeze the most juice out of it? I have an 8 hour flight and would LOVE if it lasted the majority of it.

Thanks! :)

Sounds like you've got everything covered. Airport and Bluetooth are the biggest battery drains (other than your DVD). Enjoy the flight.

If your keyboard lights are on then turn that off. Also make sure nothing is plugged into your laptop meaning nothing connected to USB, Firewire ports, etc.

If you are watching movies using your DVD drive then that will really kill battery life. It's too late now but in the future can you use applications that will copy the movies you own legally to your hard drive. This will use a lot less power watching them from your hard drive instead of the optical DVD drive.

Lastly if your airplane has the right port for this power adapter device then you won't run out of power. If you have time to make it to an Apple store or Best Buy you might be able to find one. This is also assuming your airplane has the port for this device. I don't believe all airplanes have it.
