I recently posted a comment about my HD being full, and received many suggestions, many of which suggested it was time to replace me drive.

I did so this afternoon with an OWC 480 gb SSD and my mid-2009 MBP is running like a new computer. And, the install and file migration was very easy.

So I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and suggestions. You folks are great.

You can't go wrong Mike with OWC and an SSD is the biggest bang you can get for your buck, new or older computers.

Congrats. My Mac is only a few months older than yours. but the addition of the SSD cut my boot timer almost in half. Hope it did the same for you.

It did, my MBP runs like a new computer -- I couldn't be happier!

I dare say, that 2009 Mac should be running a heck of a lot "better than new" and much faster as well with that new SDD installed. ;) :D

Especially considering that MacBook Pro came stock with a 5400-rpm HDD.
