Terminal tab autocomplete does not work--instead I receive the default error sound effect. I've tried completing it down to the last possible letter without luck. Haven't been able to find anything at all online about this, so I figure it's me being new to terminal. Ideas? Thanks.

With Tab Complete, you need to Enable it from within the Terminal Window by opening a new bash window, the copy and paste
Code:
pico .inputrc
in and hit return.

Then copy and paste these rules in and Press Control+O to save changes to .inputrc followed by Control+X to quit
Code:
set completion-ignore-case on
set show-all-if-ambiguous on
TAB: menu-complete

Then completely close Terminal and Quit for the rules to take affect, then re-open and start typing and press Tab.

Cheers

Haha Cheers mate. Yea, I have been logging in remotely and then doing the basics, making, moving, opening, removing, uploading/downloading files, changing permissions, and all the good fun stuff !!
The only way you learn I have found, is to try, and I now know enough that I won't muck my system up with a rouge command :p It is actually a lot of fun, once you get into it, and I have to admit, it was a Blog Post by you and Craig that got me into it . . . Plus I needed to know how to push to git as well . . .

Glad those articles helped somebody. It is fun once you get into it.
Still trying to come up with an idea for a new one.
