I use my PB wirelessly in my home. I want to bring it to work and connect it to the router with Cat5. Do I have to turn the airport card off to switch to Cat5 or can aiport be on while Cat5 is connecting the PB to a router?

I think you turn off the airport card, then go into system prefs>network> show>ethernet> ethernet tab>conigure automatically, make sure your using dhcp

i'm pretty sure all you have to do is plug in the cat5 cable and it will automatically configure it. no need to turn airport off.

I believe this is correct. The only reason you might want to turn off the AirPort card is if you'll be running on battery power, since the card will decrease the battery life if it's left on.

CAT-5 Connection

You will need to create a new location (network configuration) for your
CAT-5 connection. You'll need information from your Network Administrator. What type of connection, and IP address. This is done by choosing the network icon in System Preferences. Select "New Location". Name the location. Choose built in ethernet. Enter network settings. Voila!
When you want to change connections choose the location in the apple menu. Hope this helps. :headphone
